Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi recently opened the Phato Eco Tourism Zone at Jim Corbett National Park. Although not being a part of Corbett National Park, this zone is neighboring to Jim Corbett's Dhela Zone and shares the same type of forest. In Phato Zone Safari, an unexplored jungle with a variety of wildlife, safaris are offered. 50 Jeeps are available in the morning shift and 50 Jeeps are available in the afternoon in Phato Zone Jungle Safari, which has already started. Visitors can currently purchase entry permits at the phato entry gate, but they will soon be able to do online through the government website. This increases locals' employment opportunities and promotes tourism in Corbett. The Phato safari gate is situated at Maldhan village, 26 kilometres from Ramnagar. In Ramnagar, visitors can hire Jeeps. The Phato Zone has a much more fauna than the other Jim Corbett zones. The Phato Zone’s forest is extremely dense and lush everywhere. Phato zone has been established in Jim Corbett Park as the seventh zone because of the increasing number of tourists in Jim Corbett to expand it.
