Dhikala zone is one of the oldest and largest zones of the Jim Corbett National Park and it comes under number one, as per the preference of guest due to various reasons. The entry gate of this zone is named as Dhangari Gate where you can also get an opportunity to explore Dhangari Corbett Museum and get to know about the exciting history of Jim Corbett national park. Dhikala zone safari could be held in two time shift one in morning and one in evening whether you ride last long for 6 hours.
This Zone offers the thrill of Dhikala Canter Ride for day visit safari because In dhikala, you cannot avail the facility of Jeep safari at this zone for day visit, as it’s only granted to the residents of the Dhikala Forest Rest House, wherein the permission of jeep safari persists with a guide in the jeep. The Dhikala Canter Ride is of six hours duration to the jungle and back. Dhikala Canter is an open bus type vehicle which is of 16-seater of one canter and in morning total number of canters go inside the Dhikala is 4 in morning and four in evening the total number of seats in morning is 64 and evening also it is 64 seats. The ride through the dhikala canter safari is going to be very exciting and surprising as guest can have the chance to view more wildlife and natural vegetations, which you would love to explore because dhikala forest is very beautiful and dense that you would never hear of or seen before.
The Corbett National Park is a habitat of several different endangered rare and local species where the wild animals like the Royal Bengal Tiger , Asiatic Elephants, Bears, wide variety of deers( Spooted, Hog, Barking, Sambar) and many reptiles also can spotted there. And Jim Corbett Dhikala Zone is also specialties of migratory and rare birds in the dense forest of the jim corbett. There is one most famous point in the dhikala where the guest can have the chance to get some glimpse of different reptiles such as crocodile in the banks of Ramganga river, which work as the lifeline for the wildlife living surrounded by that, there is also a point where you can see Crocodile, Gharial and the point known as Gharial or Crocodile point.
Forest Rest House
The night stay in the forest house in the Dhikala zone is like a dream adventure for any wildlife lovers. There are 4 forest rest houses situated in this zone, which are Dhikala FRH, Gairal FRH, Sarapduli FRH and Sultan FRH. Among all the four rest houses, the Dhikala FRH is the most sought-after rest house due to its strategic location and enhanced facilities. Dhikala forest rest house is the biggest rest house with having around 28 double-bed rooms and a two dormitory of 12 beds in various accommodation wings. Dhikala FRH is the only forest rest house in the Corbett National Park which has the facility of 24-hour electricity in the rooms.
Gairal Crocodile Point
The Crocodile Point is a balcony area built over a river with numerous crocodiles as the constant surrounding wildlife nearby the Gairal Rest House. Staying on the deck and looking into the river will allow you to see the crocodiles in action. The desire to observe such a dangerous marine species up close is thrilling.
Grass Lands (Chaurs)
The enormous meadow, which is known as Chaurs, is the prime area in the Dhikala to spot wild creatures from tigers to elephants, different types of deer, wild pigs and numerous others. Dhikala zone is a lot of well-known for its tremendous Chaurs and the tiger locating in the region is oftentimes revealed by the vacationers.
